There's a Bat in My House!

No, I don't mean a baseball bat- I mean one of those freaky looking rodents with wings. I was having a nice Sunday nap on the couch when I heard Bret yell "Wake up Lynn, there's a bat! Get off the couch!" The bat had landed on the curtains above the couch where I gently lay... sleeping... unsuspecting...

Bret tried to figure out how to handle the situation. The internet said to use leather gloves but we don't have any. So instead he got a pitcher and trapped it in there. Enjoy the pic and video's.

Alright, so your just a little bit too excited for decorating it up for Halloween. Fourth of July is next Lynn. One holiday at a time.

No really, I think I would be just a tad bit freaked out. It looks like you handled it well though.

Gross. Have you ever seen the office episode where a bat gets trapped inside, and Dwight traps it in a garbage bag with Meredith's head inside the bag? Then she gets bitten and they run Michael Scott's Dunder Mifflin Scranton Meredith Palmer Memorial Celebrity Rabies Awareness Pro-Am Fun Run for the Cure.

That one is funny. Your post reminded me of this.

LOL- yes Mary, I did see that episode. It was a classic. Good ole Dwight.

I don't know what I would do with a bat. I'd probably just leave the window open and hope it found it's way out...? It's a good thing you guys are so resourceful. :)

That would scare me to death! I swear I would pee my pants. Don't you see the pattern here though: Bats...vampires....Edward!! You Twilight lover you!

P.S. So did it just fly away? I was surprised when your hubby took the lid off it was just laying at the bottom of the pitcher. (I think it is so cute he is in the Bishopric by the way. :-))

Thanks Melody- Bret took the pitcher away from our house to release it- I'm not exactly sure how he did it.

So, you going to be making koolaid any time soon?

He's probably one of Edward's buddies.

In highschool, there were hundreds of bats that would fly around while we were in orchestra. It was scary and gross. The guys would swing their bows at them. My teacher hated how much I screamed at them.

Tonia- I'll save the pitcher and make you some lemonade the next time you come to town. :D

That is crazy! At least Bret was there to save you :)

WOW! Crazy! Way to go Bret for catching it! I was thinking the same thing, that it is kind of ironic that you had a bat come in your house, and you love Vampires so much. Haha! I like Kien's face as he looks at the bat!
